長く延期になっていました個展『紡ぎの抄』が、明日5月18日（火）から7月21日（水）まで、福島県福島市にありますギャラリー･オフグリッドにて行われますので、ご案内いたします。

震災と原発事故の後、縁あって福島県に通い、地域の方々に様々な思いとこの場所の暮らしを教えていただき制作してきました。展覧会では、震災以前から続く福島県の地域の風習や風景を捉えた写真作品≪会津十一景≫と、震災後7年間南相馬市に通い見聞きし撮影した写真作品≪Seaside Town 浜辺のまち≫から、選んだ作品群を展示いたします。遠い過去から紡がれてきた福島の暮らしと、変貌する海沿いの風景を前に生きる人々の心を、21点の写真と二つのエッセイで綴ります。

また、ギャラリー・オフグリッドは、床や壁に福島県会津若松産の木材を使った温かい空間です。床に座って本を読んだり写真をご覧いただいたりすることもできます。福島市にお越しの機会がありましたら、お立ち寄りいただければ幸いです。

Contents:
For years, photographer Naoko Chiba has continued to document her father’s old family home located in a depopulated area in Tohoku Region, as an ongoing project entitled “My Father’s House”. She tries to capture the background behind in our northern cultures and the influence of modernization on rural areas. In addition, she started taking photographs in Aizu area and a seaside village of Minamisoma, Fukushima, following the Great East Japan earthquake, tsunami, and the nuclear power plant disaster in 2011.
In this volume of exhibition, we are presenting some selections of her works entitled “Eleven views of the Aizu region” and “Seaside Town”.
The series of her works depict the pictures she took enduring Fukushima ways of life, its folklores, and the landscapes of the region which residents have long shared.
We can also find her photos and essays about the drastic changes that describe the hearts and minds of the people who live along the seaside areas due to the effects of disasters.
