岩手県盛岡市内のCyg art galleryでの個展『父の家 My Father’s House』は、先日作品の搬出も無事にできました。お越しくださったみなさま、温かい励ましをくださったみなさま、心から感謝しております。様々なお話を伺って、新しい視点をいただき、次の岩手での制作を考える良い機会になりました。

展覧会では、Cyg art galleryの佐藤拓実さん、藤岡麻衣さん、須川麻柚子さん、伊山桂さん、千葉真利さん、homesickdesignの清水真介さん、黒丸健一さんに大変お世話になり、感謝の気持ちでいっぱいです。展覧会と3回のギャラリートーク、作品集の製作など、良い機会とたくさんの支えをくださって、本当にありがとうございます。
また、岩手の調査・研究活動と今回の展覧会に御助成いただきました公益財団法人小笠原敏晶記念財団さまにも御礼申し上げます。

5月14日(土)には、Cyg art galleryキュレーターの佐藤拓実さんと3回目のギャラリートークをして、エッセイ集「父の家 2022年」から『冬の家』の一部を朗読しました。冬の様子を写したゼラチン・シルバー・プリント作品や、撮影初期の、1998年から2006年に写したサイアノタイププリントのエピソードをご紹介しました。撮影・現像・プリント作業の様子もご覧いただき、写真が生まれてくる大切な過程や、写真から教えられることなどお話しました。後日Cyg art galleryのYoutubeにアップされましたらご案内します。

これからまた『父の家 My Father’s House』のエッセイの続きを書いて、プリントを続けます。

I would like to express my sincere gratitude to everyone who came to my solo exhibition ‘My Father’s House’ at the Cyg art gallery in Morioka City, Iwate Prefecture, and to everyone who gave me their warm encouragement and messages. Also, I would like to express my thanks to everyone who helped me in one way or another made this exhibition possible. This exhibition showed new pictures entitled ‘My Father’s House’ which I have taken in Iwate for over 20 years.

Also, I would like to express my thanks to Mr.Takumi Sato, Ms. Mai Fujioka, Ms. Mayuko Sukawa, Mr. Kei Iyama, and Ms. Mari Chiba, curators and staff of the gallery. To Mr. Shinsuke Shimizu, representative and art director and Mr. Kenichi Kuromaru, designer of homesickdesign company. Thank you so much for organizing the exhibition including the three talk events, and for the design and publishment of my art works.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank Ogasawara Toshiaki Memorial Foundation for the grant they provided for the researches done in relation with the exhibition.

On May 14th, there was a 3rd gallery talk with Cyg art gallery curator Mr.Takumi Sato. I read a part of “A Winter House” from my essay collection ‘My Father’s House 2022’. I introduced some photographs that printed winter sceneries using the technique of gelatin silver prints, and the cyanotype prints that were photographed when I started taking pictures in Iwate from 1998 to 2006.

In addition, I also showed some images about the important photographic processes which include taking pictures, developing in the darkroom, and printing on photographic papers. During the gallery talk, I mentioned about my insight and the essence of taking pictures and printing them out.

Through this exhibition, I gained further ideas to learn more about the local communities in Iwate and I hope to continue to depict the present life of the area through my pictures. Thank you so much.
